In consultation with the police and gendarmerie services, this plan aims to provide better information on the conduct to be taken by victims of LGBTPhobe aggression, better inform the professionals responsible for supporting victims, and raise awareness among the general public. , schools, sports and professional circles in the fight against LGBTphobias and to redouble vigilance in places regularly experiencing LGBTphobic violence.
This convention also includes measures aimed at effectively combating physical and verbal attacks and cyberstalking: “This is particularly the case with the FLAG application! which makes it possible to report facts of LGBTphobias in order to accentuate public policies on the most “at risk” areas (a neighborhood, a street, a school, a
public institution, a company, etc …)“.
Complaints will also be encouraged. Since the start of the year, only around ten complaints have been filed in the Rhône for acts of violence or theft with violence, insults, extortion and school harassment, committed because of sexual orientation. the victims. And this while the SOS Homophobie report lists 160 people physically assaulted in France.
In addition, an awareness campaign will be carried out throughout the territory of the Metropolis, starting next Wednesday, with in particular visuals displayed in the TCL.
Finally, a practical memo for the use of victims of assault and discrimination has been published. It lists the steps to follow to file a complaint and benefit from a
psychological support. It includes the toll-free number of the LGBTI + Lyon center which can be reached on 0805 030 450 every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
