The signature of the sports section agreement linking for three new years Lycée Marceau, the City of Chartres and the three clubs SubAqua, Women’s Basketball and Swimming of Chartres Métropole took place on Thursday evening in the amphitheater of Lycée Marceau.
In front of the young athletes, and before affixing his signature, the headmaster, Yann Massina, thanked the presidents, the teachers, the educators and the City, who, thanks to their action and this quality partnership, offer the pupils the possibility of achieving quality results both in sport and in school.
A label for women’s basketball
Benjamin Emeriaud and Nicolas Boisset are both PE teachers at Lycée Marceau.
They animate and coordinate the operation of the sections, the first as a diving speaker and swimming referent. The second is referent of the women’s basketball section.
Benjamin Emeriaud explained the principle of these classes which approach excellence in many fields. “School sports sections, formerly sports-studies, give students the opportunity to reach a high level of practice and allow them to reconcile studies and reinforced sports practices”.
Excellence, more than a goal, has even become a label for the women’s basketball section. “The women’s basketball school section of Lycée Marceau is the only one in the Academy and therefore in the Center Val-de-Loire region. The rectorate awarded it the Excellence label as a reward in particular for the level of practice of the players! “, welcomed Nicolas Boisset.

This new promotion will concern about 30 to 35 students (from 7 to 16, depending on the discipline) or about 10% of the candidates who have submitted a file and have passed the stages of sports detection!
