Lyashko told what daily number of COVID-patients the hospitals will withstand

The system will withstand 24 thousand new COVID patients daily – Lyashko

The authorities will create a commission that will check compliance with quarantine restrictions in some areas of the country.

The health care system of Ukraine will not come close to collapse with a daily number of more than 24 thousand new coronavirus diseases per day. This was announced on Monday, March 29, by the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko on the air of the Freedom of Speech program, writes Ukrainian truth.

“With 24 thousand infections per day and a little more, we go through without a national quarantine. The healthcare system is now not the same as it was in March 2020. We say that we will not impose strict quarantine restrictions until the healthcare system comes close to collapse. “, – assures Lyashko.

He explained that the winter lockdown was introduced in Ukraine in order to postpone the wave of coronavirus, which was predicted in February.

“There was no outbreak in February, it moved to March. There are a number of factors that we talked about, it is impossible to predict how the virus will change. We will not impose severe restrictions until the medical system is close to collapse,” said the medical doctor.

He also said that in Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions, the situation with coronavirus has stabilized and it is believed that these areas have passed the COVID wave. In Zhytomyr and Chernivtsi regions, according to Lyashko, there are problems, so the authorities decided to create a commission that will check compliance with quarantine in these areas.

Recall the Ministry of Health expanded the “red” quarantine zone to 11 regions.
