Luzech. The club opens the first health rugby section of the Lot

USL rugby, with its 102 years of experience in competitive rugby, aims to open up the practice of rugby and allow all those who wish to practice rugby without contact. The rugby club must become a place of life and sharing for all.

In order to meet a real need for health through sport, USL rugby has decided to open a rugby health section because it is scientifically proven that the practice of physical exercises, in particular rugby, prevents the appearance of certain pathologies. , and improves the quality of life of practitioners with chronic conditions (WHO).

Indeed, according to the medical commission of the CNOSF and the French society of medicine, exercise and sport with a regular and adapted practice of rugby would have benefits on the general physical condition (balance, coordination, address …), on the musculoskeletal system (endurance and muscle strength, joint flexibility, etc.) and on cognitive functions (decision-making, concentration, memory, etc.). Finally, it has a psychosocial interest (stress management, social bond, etc.). In short, healthy sport rugby is relevant for reducing fatigue and maintaining or improving one’s health around moments of conviviality, sharing and discussion.

Thus, in addition to medical care, rugby is a tool that acts in primary, secondary and tertiary prevention. It reduces the risk of the onset of a disease and when the diagnosis is made, it aims to maintain state of health and limit the risk of recurrence after remission.

From September 14, the graduate sports educator and health sport specialist from USL Luzech Audrey Galthié will be pleased to welcome all people with a long-term illness who have a validated resumption of activity authorization. by a sports doctor from the Cahors Hospital Center, as well as seniors with a prescription from their doctor.
