After the tough defeat against Bayern Munich for the Champions League, the Barcelona leadership decided to end Quique Setién’s bond as coach. Instead, they hired Ronald Koeman, who was as coach of the Netherlands team.
The former defender was introduced as Barcelona’s new coach and he was quickly able to work on setting up the squad and the coaching staff. Without going any further, in the last hours it was confirmed that Henrik Larsson will be one of his assistants.
The former Swedish striker, who passed through Barcelona between 2004-06, was announced as a member of Koeman’s coaching staff and a photo was taken with President Josep Bartomeu in the vicinity of the club.
The Swede came to Barça in 2004 from Celtic Glasgow. During the two seasons that he wore the Barça shirt, he gave a great performance, playing 62 games and scoring 22 goals. With FC Barcelona he won a Champions League, two Leagues and a Spanish Super Cup. She will now work alongside Koeman on the coaching staff.

- FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with Alfred Schreuder and Henrik Larsson for their incorporation to the technical staff headed by Ronald Koeman. Both have signed until June 30, 2022.
- Alfred Schreuder, born in Barneveld (Netherlands) on November 2, 1972, is an expert in strategy plays and has extensive experience in both the Netherlands and Germany. Schreuder has been part of the staff of Hoffenheim, with which he managed to qualify for the Champions League, and also of Ajax 2018/19, where he coincided with De Jong and marveled Europe reaching the semifinals of the Champions League.
- For their part, Koeman and Larsson coincided during their stage as footballers, when they both played Feyenoord during the 1995 and 1997 courses. Now, 23 years later, they will meet again at the Camp Nou, where they both reached glory as footballers. As a manager, Larsson has coached Falkenberg and Helsingborg in Sweden, in his native country.
