LUXI VILLAR: “LONDON HELPED ME SEE MUSIC IN A DIFFERENT WAY AND TO THINK THAT THIS WAS THE WORLD I WANTED TO LIVE IN.”

WHAT ARE THE EVENTS YOU HAVE? DO YOU HAVE A GLOBAL CONCEPT FOR THE END OF SUMMER? WHAT IS BEYOND MUSIC IN YOUR COUNTRIES WHERE WE WILL BE ABLE TO ENJOY SESSIONS?

As for events, the truth is that I have a ton of energy to give it my all on all my dates. I have some that are going to be completely unblocked dreams, like playing at Aquasella, the Wild Corner at Hï Ibiza (from the minute I was there I wanted to do it), Vibe Festival in Serbia and playing with Carl Cox or Timewarp, they are very important dates and I couldn’t be happier to be able to be part of these events.

It’s true that another dream unlocked for me is to be part of ElRow and for them to count on me as they are doing, with whom I will continue to announce dates. I also have the great pleasure of returning to where it all began, in London and performing again at E1, I’m really looking forward to it.

WE KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN A VERY INTERESTING PROCESS TO GIVE YOUR OWN SOUND A TURN. WHAT DOES THIS PROCESS CONSIST OF?

I’ve been looking for that sound that sets me apart from the rest for a long time, but it’s true that in these months, when everything has been happening so fast, I’ve noticed how it has aligned itself compared to previous years. I also think that it’s something that’s taking on a life of its own. My focus is to share the music that I like, and from there, sounds, structures and forms that are unique to my taste are added, which make it happen naturally. I’m following a very characteristic groove but at a higher speed. In the sessions we can see the process of a more house-like beginning, followed by techno and hard groove.

As for the studio, I look for the same sound, at a higher speed but always following a fun and catchy dynamic that hooks you from the beginning to the end of each song.

YOU HAVE A GLOBAL CONCEPT THAT GOES BEYOND THE MUSIC IN YOUR SESSIONS. YOUR IMAGE AND HOW YOU PRESENT YOURSELF TO THE PUBLIC IS VERY IMPORTANT, RIGHT?

Yes, I think that an artist is not only the music they produce or their sets (obviously it is the most important part) but being an artist encompasses more things. For me one of the most important things is the image, I never go dressed in just anything when I have a set, I always think about balancing my style with the music and the place where I am. I am passionate about fashion and personal care, it has always been very present in my life and now it is very important that they go hand in hand.

I also think it’s important to create your own brand, your own seal of identification. We are currently experiencing an overexploitation of the electronic music industry where there are so many DJs and producers, marking your style is what makes you different from the rest, and therefore one of the keys to success.
