You arrived in France on March 1 for a month-long tour. What will the public attending the concert at the Casino 2000 in Mondorf on March 15 hear?
Roch VOISINE : “I’m going to revisit the titles of the Americana project which was launched in 2009 and which has since had three albums. Before confinement, I had gone on an acoustic tour. Here we come back with something different. We will be six on stage with a singer and four musicians. We will travel through North American music through the ages, from the 60s to the 80s. There will be country, folk and rock. This music is the one that rocked my childhood. It really worked when I released the first album. I chained two hundred concerts, but I wanted to do something else. »
You will celebrate your 60th birthday on March 26. You count thirty albums in nearly forty years of career. What is your secret to longevity?
“Thirty albums yes, but in Europe, I remain the singer of a single song, namely Helen , written in 1982 and which was a springboard for my career in 1989. Nevertheless, I had a good career and all of this I owe to hard work. That’s the secret, beyond the passion that has driven me all this time. »
How do you view music today?
“It’s day and night compared to my beginnings. It has become complicated to sell albums, to attract people to concerts. Today, we no longer speak of records but of singles. I have some new stuff, but I’m waiting to release them. The stage is not the Star Ac, you have to hold on for the long term, retain your audience, preserve your voice. I am completely self-taught. I dreamed of having a career in hockey. But I also liked the guitar. I learned on my own. »
You have been a sportsman, TV presenter. Do you want to make movies?
“That’s the question everyone asks me, except directors and producers. Yes I would, but in forty years, I haven’t had any offers. »
