Luton Town Captain Tom Lockyer Suffers Heart Attack During Premier League Match Against Bournemouth

Tom Lockyer, captain of Luton Town’s first football team, suffered a heart attack during the match against Bournemouth, which knocked him to the ground. The match was stopped after that, and the result indicated a “1-1” draw, in the 17th round of the English Premier League.
Luton Club issued a statement stating that the player is fully conscious and responding to treatment, then issued a new statement confirming that the player had suffered a heart attack, as confirmed by the club’s medical staff, but he regained consciousness after being treated on the field, before being transferred to the hospital where he is currently recovering with his family by his side.
Later, the English Premier League issued a statement confirming that the match would not be completed: “The Premier League match between Bournemouth and Luton Town will not be completed due to a health condition for one of the players.”
Lockyer previously suffered a health problem during the last season, during the playoff qualification to the Premier League in May 2023, and underwent heart surgery.
