President Jokowi finally banned his ministers from traveling abroad during the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), except for Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.
“The president has emphasized that in this emergency PPKM, of course, there must be a sense of crisis for all ministries, institutions, leaders,” said Cabinet Secretary Minister Pramono Anung on Friday, July 16, 2021.
Therefore, Pramono said Jokowi forbade all ministers and heads of institutions to travel abroad if there were no special matters and without permission from the president.
“Only the Minister of Foreign Affairs may travel abroad, because it is in accordance with his field of duty. Others, if there are special matters, must obtain permission directly from the president,” he said.
Previously, photos of two aides of President Joko Widodo, namely the Minister of Investment, Bahlil Lahadalia and the Minister of Trade, M. Lutfi, were circulated without wearing masks during a visit to New York, United States, Wednesday (14/7).
