Presenter Lussania Víquez touched on a very sensitive topic for her and for many women who have been unable to get pregnant.
As many of you know, it took her years to become a mother and in the end it was thanks to a fertilization process she underwent with a doctor specialized in the subject.
Today, her children Antonella and Alessandro are one year old, but she will never forget all the criticism she received from people outside her family when she saw that the years went by and she had no children.
“I remember when I was struggling to become a mother, I hoped with all my heart that my period would be late, and if it was 12 hours late, I was happy. I would say: ‘Oh, this is it, this is it!’ And months and years would go by, but I didn’t get pregnant, and then people would start to have opinions and say: ‘No, you just have to relax,’ ‘Yes, because of cortisol,’ or ‘the scientific study,’ or comments like: ‘Oh no, but then adopt.’ It’s a complicated and controversial topic, but I think we have to be more empathetic.”
“If you know a couple who doesn’t have children, there are only two reasons: one: they don’t want to and two: they can’t. So, what’s the point of me saying: ‘why don’t you adopt?’, ‘what if you do this?’, ‘what if you relax?’. What if instead we say: ‘I’m here for you if you need me?’, ‘do you want to cry?’, ‘do you want to talk?’, ‘I’m here,’ ‘let’s have a coffee?’” she said.

Lucy added that she decided to make this video thinking of all those women who want to be mothers and have not been able to, to remind them that they are not the only ones and that they should not stop trusting in God’s plans, “because his designs are always, always perfect.”
“I know that many people say this to try to help, but believe me, hugging and being there is much better in difficult times,” added the Repretel figure.
Víquez announced her pregnancy precisely on Informe 11 Las Historias when she was four months pregnant in February 2023.
