It’s official! WS Europe has announced that the “Pavilhao Gimnodesportivo de Luso”, located in the Aveiro region in the north of Portugal, will host the 1st Competition Phase of the European League 20/21. A total of nine teams will fight for the goal of proclaiming themselves continental champions.
Bara, Deportivo Liceo, CE Noia Freixenet and Reus Deportiu will be the Spanish teams that for the third consecutive year will represent national roller hockey in the largest club competition in Europe. The four teams know what it is to lift the European Cup and will try to add one more for their showcases. They will accompany the four OK Liga teams; SL Benfica, UD Oliveirense, FC Porto, Sporting CP and OC Barcelos, five Portuguese rivals.
It should be remembered that the European competition will present a first phase, made up of three groups with three teams each. The first three classified in each group at the end of the first phase, added to the best second, will go on to the Final Four scheduled for May 15 and 16.
Group A: FC Porto, CE Freixenet Girl, OC Barcelos.
Group B: Sporting CP, Reus Deportiu Mir, UD Oliveirense.
Group C: Only, Sports Lyceum, SL Benfica.
All matches will be broadcast on television (channels will be announced later) and can be seen live on the new World Skate Europe Web Television (WS Europe TV). The group stage of this new edition of the Men’s European League will be held behind closed doors.
