” It’s incomprehensible. The Neurology Day Hospital has proven itself with Dr. Ziegler. There must be time to train young people. There is a family spirit between his team and the patients, ”emphasizes Jean-Marc Mercier. “Many neurologists do not know our pathologies which are very complex”. Suffering from neuropathy, he went through a diagnostic wandering before crossing paths with Dr Ziegler. “He is very familiar with multiple sclerosis and, with him, we are well followed. He has experience ”.
He fears that after the departure of the neurologist, the service will collapse. “We will not have the same stakeholders and no real follow-up. Ultimately, the day hospital will disappear and we will have to go to Belfort, Vesoul or Besançon. We want to keep our achievements ”.

“By March 2022, the activity of neurology will not be modified”
“The departure of a practitioner can be a source of anguish and worry for the patients followed by the latter sometimes for decades. Our teams will show an active and professional listening to answer, as best possible, the questions of each patient ”, assures the Hospital Group of Haute-Saône (GH 70). Who specifies that “by March 2022, the activity of neurology will not be modified and that the patients will be taken care of in accordance with the existing”.
It was in 2016 that, at the initiative of Dr Ziegler, the Clifransep (Franche-Comté multiple sclerosis clinic) was launched with the opening of a day hospital. This associative-type clinic is backed by the Haute-Saône hospital group. It takes care of 400 patients in follow-up and 100 with autoimmune neuropathies, from Haute-Saône, Doubs and Territoire de Belfort, and sometimes from Vosges and Alsace.

Current recruitments
The request to extend Dr Ziegler’s activity will be processed in the coming weeks by the National Management Center, an organization which manages the careers of hospital practitioners, after consulting the head of the establishment, the head of the department, the medical manager of the Interhospital Medical Federation (FMIH) and the president of the GH70 Establishment Medical Commission. The latter confirm that the extension cannot be granted, insofar as the posts are filled and the continuity of care ensured.
