These names have been in the top three for years. Buddy and Bobbie are other popular names for a male, while Bella and Pip are in second and third place for females.

In addition, a number of new names, which were previously uncommon, have grown considerably in popularity. Charlie, Joep, Ollie and Nala are also in the top ten most popular dog names.
Earlier this year, that insurance company noted that there is a huge run on young dogs in this corona time. “We hope the owners have thought carefully about how they will take care of their pup after corona,” says Marélie Sweep of Petplan. “You are responsible for a pet for an animal’s life, even after this period.”
