The budget for 2023 was approved in the Lülsfeld municipal council meeting. The treasurer of the Gerolzhofen administrative community, Rene Borchardt, explained the figures.
In the budget, the income in the administrative budget is 1,660,000 euros and in the property budget 1,445,000 euros. At EUR 102,000, the allocation to the asset budget is above the mandatory allocation of EUR 24,000. With a population of 827 people, this corresponds to a probable per capita debt of 638.05 euros by the end of 2023. The state average for comparable municipalities is 617 euros.
Loans of around 2.2 million euros are to be taken out for urgent investments. The largest measures are the road and sewer renovation in Kirchstraße in Lülsfeld, after about 50 years, with around 800,000 euros, the investments for the elementary and middle school in Gerolzhofen with 800,000 euros, the village square with bus lane in Schallfeld also with 800,000 euros, the replacement of the heating systems and the investment in renewable energies in the community center, after 30 years of use, with 130,000 euros. In addition, funds were made available for the construction of the new siren and a bus stop in Schallfeld.
After 25 years, both sewage treatment plants have to be renovated or renewed, no costs are yet available for this; In any case, they will be passed on to the citizens. The fee requirements for the cost-accounting facilities such as the sewage disposal systems in both places and the water supply in the entire municipal area were recalculated by the Treasury in 2019. Therefore, the sewer usage fees in Lülsfeld are 1.80 euros per cubic meter and in Schallfeld 1.40 euros per cubic meter. The water consumption fees in the municipality of Lülsfeld have been €1.80 per cubic meter since 2020.
Fees are expected to increase from January 2024
According to the mayor’s statement, the calculation period for the sewer and water consumption fees ends at the end of 2023. This means that a new cost calculation will take place on January 1, 2024, with probably higher fees.
For the municipality of Lülsfeld, the planned new school building or its renovation in Gerolzhofen is an unfavorable time for the municipal budget, even if the measure is to be seen over a period of 40 years, Heinrichs said. The upcoming task cannot be tackled from own funds and reserves, which is why loans would have to be taken out. Measures that cannot be postponed are the rehabilitation of the sewers and work on the water network in both districts.
The committee unanimously approved the new construction of a cold storage hall and the construction of a new access road for ÜZ-Mainfranken in Lülsfeld. The construction work will take place in the western part of the site.
From the non-public part of the last meeting, the mayor announced that the municipal council had authorized the mayor, after obtaining and examining offers, to award the contract for the steel construction work at the Schallfeld fire station to the most favorable contractor.
