Luleå has signed a two-year contract with Canadian Frédéric Allard.
The 25-year-old right-shooting defenseman has belonged to the Montreal Canadiens where he made three NHL appearances this season.
– We are losing offensive Julius Honka and defensive Oscar Engsund, we want to invest more in two-way defenders, says sports manager Stefan “Skuggan” Nilsson.
Luleå has previously recruited backs Marcus Hardegård from Örebro and Ludvig Jansson from Södertälje.
With Frédéric Allard, Norrbottensklubben now has six defenders under contract.
– We will start the season with seven slopes. We are far ahead of not getting the seventh, says Stefan “Skuggan” Nilsson.
Eighth new acquisition
Out among the slopes there is also Jonathan Andersson to Färjestad and Filip Poyrochta to the Czech Republic.
On the forward side, Luleå has brought in Pontus Andreasson, Detroit Red Wings, Nikola Pasic, Södertälje, David Lilja, Bik Karlskoga, Oscar Eklind, Brynäs and Patrik Zdráhal, Litvinov.
As for Linus Omark, it needs to be resolved that he has one season left on his contract with Geneve-Servette.
