Lula da Silva wins the presidential elections in Brazil

Brasilia: (AFP)
The latest opinion poll released Saturday evening in Brazil revealed that former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is the most likely candidate to win the presidential elections to be held on Sunday, and could win in the first round.
The survey, the results of which were published by the Datafolia Institute on the eve of the survey, revealed that support rates for both candidates are stable compared to the survey data released Thursday.
And left-wing leader Lula will get fifty percent of the valid votes (that is, aside from white papers or unconditional papers) compared to 36 percent of his direct rival, far-right president Jair Bolsonaro, according to the poll.
A candidate must have a threshold of fifty percent plus one vote to be elected in the first round and avoid a second round scheduled for October 30th.
According to the institute’s data, the difference remains constant compared to Thursday’s data (48% versus 34%).
Set the margin of error to two percentage points.
The survey included a larger than usual sample of 12,800 people on Friday and Saturday.
Bolsonaro considers the polls “misleading” and says he will be elected in the first round.
Another opinion poll released by the IPIC revealed that 51% of valid votes will go to Lula, compared to Bolsonaro’s 37% in the first round on Sunday.
