Luke Cage’s Showrunner Fears Censorship on Disney+

El showrunner de Luke Cage expressed concern with the show’s departure from Netflix.

On March 1, 2022 various productions of Marvel they will abandon Netflixso we can no longer find series like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher, Iron Fist and The Defenderswhich is not yet known to which new streaming platform they will arrive, however it is rumored that they will eventually arrive at Disney+.

After the previous announcement, Higher Coker Title -showrunner of Luke Cage– expressed his concern about the exit of the program of Netflix, arguing that he is afraid that his new home will censor the production in question or seek to make a lighter version of the character:

“I’m rewatching Luke Cage on Netflix. The people who own the rights to the character will do what they want with it, it’s theirs. I just hope they don’t make a reboot more light of the same with a different cast, I also hope that the N-word is not prohibited«.

Will the cast repeat in the UCM?

That said, the aforementioned showrunner advocated that Marvel and Disney hire again the protagonists of Luke Cage in their respective papers:

Regardless of whether or not they ask me to return to the show, I really hope that Mike Colter returns as Luke Cage, Simone Missick returns as Misty Knight, and so on with the entire cast. It would be like a James Bond movie, there may be another lead but I have to write for Sean Connery, Lois Maxwell and Ursula Andress.

The showrunner’s request is not crazy after Marvel would rehire Charlie Cox and Vincent D’ Onofrio in their respective roles in the series Daredevil on Netflix: Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, will the same thing happen to the cast of Luke Cage?

Cinephiles and cinephiles, what do you think?
