Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will arrive in Beijing on a state visit on Tuesday, February 28, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China announced on Saturday.
“At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will pay a state visit to China from February 28 to March 2,” the ministry’s representative announced.
Beijing wants to cooperate with Minsk in order to increase mutual trust, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gan emphasized in a telephone conversation with his Belarusian counterpart Sergey Aleinik on Friday.
In September of last year, at a meeting in the capital of Uzbekistan, Samarkand, Xi and Lukashenko announced the establishment of strategic cooperation between the two countries.
