The Belarusian side should attend the talks to resolve the situation in Ukraine. Alexander Lukashenko announced this on October 17.
“Take Ukraine. I have already said publicly, perhaps in vain: I always wanted, and I tell Ukrainians and Russians about this – Vladimir Putin warning that Belarusians should be present at the talks,” – he said.
Lukashenko emphasized that what is happening in the neighboring country is also a problem of Belarus.
“I don’t want issues, our issues, to be resolved there without us. behind our backs” – noted the leader of Belarus.
At the same time, Lukashenko said that due to this, decisions that cannot be accepted in Minsk can be made, “half of the country will have to be abandoned tomorrow.” According to the president of Belarus, now, with the encouragement of the exiled opposition located abroad, the West is doing everything to prevent Belarus and its leader in particular from talks, with that the republic will strongly defend its positions.
“You cannot break Lukashenko, you cannot bend him, he will protect his interests. We have to live in the future and live in this situation,” – emphasized the President of Belarus.
Let us remind you that Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24, 2022. Belarus does not officially participate in it, but supports Moscow’s actions. Lukashenko has previously said that any negotiations on Ukraine should be held with the participation of Belarusian representatives.
