Lukas Enembe Claims the Promise of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri, Here’s the Appearance of His Handwritten Letter

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The attorney for the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, Petrus Bala Pattyona, revealed the contents of a letter sent by his client to the Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri.

In the document distributed by Petrus, Tuesday (7/2/2023), it appears that the letter dated January 29, 2023 was handwritten by Luke.

The writing on the white striped paper looked messy.

According to Petrus, through this letter Luke collected the promise made by Firli during an inspection at Lukas’ house on November 3 last year.

At that time, said Petrus, Firli promised that Lukas Enembe could undergo treatment in Singapore. It is known that Lukas was undergoing treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore, before finally being caught by the KPK.

“Mr. Firli promised to go to Koya, the house of Mr. Lukas Enembe on 03/11/22, when the BAP was ill, and the BAP was closed,” said Petrus when contacted by Kompas.com, Thursday (2/2/2023).

KPK Enforcement and Institutional Spokesman Ali Fikri protested against Petrus’ statement.

According to him, the lawyers built a narrative as if their client was asking Firli for a personal promise.

Ali emphasized that Firli did not make a personal appointment with Lukas. The meeting with Lukas at his residence took place during an examination by the investigative team and the medical team.

The meeting was witnessed by a number of security force officials at the Papua Regional Police and the media crew.

“It’s as if Lukas is going to collect personal promises from the chairman of the KPK, we need to straighten this out,” said Ali in his statement, Friday (3/2/2023).
