Modric recently extended his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until the end of the season. However, the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner feels his importance is diminishing as more suitors arrive at Real.
Real manager Carlo Ancelotti says Modric will remain an important part of his plans. However, it is almost certain that the player may not feature in the starting XI for every match as in the past. Real’s weapon this season is a young midfield.
According to SPORT, Modric turned down offers from the Saudi Pro League this summer. However, the publication is reporting that Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham has held talks with the 37-year-old. He could see himself joining seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi at the DRV Pink Stadium. He wants to see the Messi-Modric combination scoring goals.
However, a transfer to the MLS side will not happen immediately, as Modric is focused on giving his best for Madrid in his final season at the club.
