Luka Doncic passes Magic Johnson

Luca Doncic had a historic night with the Dallas Maverick, since this Friday he became the second fastest player to add 50 triple-double games; it remains only after Oscar Robertson and passed Magic Johnson.

Doncic is only the tenth player in the history of NBA which arrives at five dozen triple-doubles.

Doncic scored 33 points as the Dallas Mavericks defeated the downtrodden Denver Nuggets 127-99, in the first of consecutive meetings.

The Nuggets played without two-time MVP Nikola Jokic and two other starters, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon. Murray joined Jokic, who missed his second consecutive game due to health and safety protocols. Gordon missed a second game with illness unrelated to COVID-19.

All three did not make the trip to the Nuggets, who play again in Dallas Sunday night. It is unclear if they will be available for the rematch.

Christian Wood had 28 points and eight rebounds for the Mavericks and Spencer Dinwiddie had 15. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Bruce Brown each had 18 points for the Nuggets, who stood little chance without their stars while Doncic had 12 rebounds and 11 assist
