Luisito Comunica says that you cannot enter Europe with the Sinovac vaccine – People – Culture

The famous Mexican influencer Luisito Communicates, who visited Colombia at the beginning of June while the National Strike demonstrations were taking place, caused controversy on social networks by stating that in Europe It is not allowing the entry of tourists who are vaccinated against the covid-19 with the biological CoronaVac, manufactured by the Chinese pharmaceutical Sinovac.

According to what he told on his YouTube channel, he is on a Father’s Day trip with his father, however, when they were going to take the flight to France and Monaco, from the Istanbul airport (Turkey), they ran into an unexpected restriction.

As he relates, they did not let their father ride the plane after they were asked both what vaccine against covid-19 they had been given and he replied that with Sinovac.

With the vaccine that my father has, you cannot travel to several countries. My dad has a Sinovac vaccine and it is not useful for traveling to Europe, they do not accept it. If you have Sinovac, know that it is not useful for traveling, literally, they told us ‘you cannot go to Europe’”, He said, adding that European airlines were only accepting people who were vaccinated with Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Janssen. The latter is the one that the youtuber has.

At first he said, faced with this situation, that he did not know if he was going to have to stay in Turkey or if he could travel to another country with his father. In the end, he decided to stay a few days in the Turkish country and then travel to Serbia, a European country that is not part of the EU and, therefore, does not have these types of restrictions.

Is Luisito’s statement true?

On the official page of the European Union It is detailed that people who want to travel to the old continent must have received, at least 14 days before the date of the trip, the last dose of: “a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Association (EMA) or a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) for emergency use“.

According to the official information published on the portal in the EU, these are Comirnaty (Pfizer-BioNtech), Moderna, Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson). For their part, the emergency ones are Serum Institute of India and Sinopharm.

However, this July 1, the World Health Organization (WHO) approved the Sinovac-CoronaVac vaccine for emergency use.WHO today validated the Sinovac-CoronaVac # COVID19 vaccine for emergency use, giving countries, sponsors, contracting agencies and communities the assurance that it meets international standards for safety, efficacy, and manufacturing. ” they wrote in a trill.

So the situation that the Mexican experienced could be a confusion or, simply, the countries of the European Union have not updated their restrictions on travelers after this latest WHO announcement.
