Mexican Luis Ramón Garrido was eliminated in the group stage of men’s singles badminton after losing to Cheuk Yiu Lee of Hong Kong China at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Mexican had some brilliant moments during the match but was unable to overcome his rival, who defeated him 2-1 with scores of 21-5, 15-21, 21-17 in a Group I duel at the Chapelle Arena.
After being outplayed by Lee in the first ‘Game’, Garrido Esquivel came out with everything in the second and took it with a 21-15 to clinch the first set in the Olympic history of Mexican badminton.
