Arturo ‘N’, involved in the murder of the notary Luis Miranda Cardoso placeholder image and father of federal deputy Luis Miranda Nava, was found dead yesterday in his cell at the Santiaguito Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center, in the municipality of Almoloya de Juárez, Mexico state.
According to the Undersecretary of Penitentiary Control, the man was in the area known as “imaginary”, but at 8:30 pm, when the roll call was made, Arturo ‘N’ did not respond; however, it was not until 10:30 pm that a tour of the corridor was made and his cell was entered, where he was found dead.
In a statement, the state security agency reported that after locating Arturo ‘N’ without vital signs, support was requested from the medical service, who confirmed his death.
The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) is already investigating the case and the prison authority has promised to provide the information necessary for the investigation of the facts.
On Sunday the Mexican Prosecutor’s Office reported on the arrest of this 57-year-old man, who is allegedly related to the murder of former magistrate Luis Miranda Cardoso.
Miranda Cardoso was found dead on August 11 inside her home on Texcoco Street, between Lerma and Cuautitlán, in the Sector Popular neighborhood, in the municipality of Toluca.
After the investigations by the FGJEM, a line of investigation related to a house robbery could be established and days later the alleged perpetrator was arrested, who would have worked for several years with the victim.
