López was drafted in the first round, 24th overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 1998 NBA draft and immediately moved to the Vancouver Grizzlies. He then played for the Washington Wizards and Minnesota Timberwolves, in a career that lasted until 2002.
López’s achievements include being selected as the Most Valuable Player of the McDonald’s All American (an all-star game for high school players from all over the country) and in college he was part of the All-Star Quintet in Co. -Big East speech in 1997 and 1998.
