Luis Enrique sharply highlighted at the end Paris Saint Germain lost badly to Newcastle United in the Champions League. Enrique was accused of underestimating Newcastle.
PSG travel to Newcastle’s headquarters in St. James’ Park on matchday 2 Liga Champions, Thursday (5/10) early morning WIB, with more favorable status. Considering the experience and composition of the squad, Les Parisiens are more favourites.
However, in reality, PSG was actually beaten 1-4 by Newcastle, who had just made a comeback to the Champions League after 20 years. PSG’s performance in that match also received criticism.
Former French player Christophe Dugarry claims Luis Enrique is taking Newcastle too lightly.
“The coach thinks Newcastle are rubbish,” Dugarry told RMC.
“Luis Enrique made a mistake. I know him very well from our time together at Barcelona (1997/1998 season) and he is a person with a very big sense of pride but he has an excessive ego and I guarantee it will continue to be like that,” said Dugarry who was Enrique’s teammate at Barcelona.
“He would impose his ideas and die with them,” he said.
