The ongoing speculation about Luis Díaz’s future at Barcelona has generated a flurry of rumours in the world of football.
Despite his recent return to the pitch, where he stood out with two goals in a pre-season friendly, doubts about a possible transfer to the Catalan club persist, reported a Spanish media outlet.
Various reports suggest that, after his links with Manchester City were denied, the team that still shows interest in the Colombian is the one managed by Hansi Flick.
However, El Chiringuito journalist Quim Domenech put Barcelona’s financial difficulties into perspective, warning fans that they are unlikely to be able to retain the Colombian winger this season.

Domenech stressed that Barcelona’s financial situation has been problematic for the third consecutive year, indicating that there is still uncertainty over the registration of players such as Dani Olmo.
“The club’s financial situation has been bad for the third consecutive year. We are at a point where, with four days to go before the start of the league in Spain, we still don’t know if Dani Olmo can be registered,” said the journalist.

Nico Williams is another case that highlights the club’s financial difficulties. Domenech recalled: “The case of Nico Williams shows us that there were no guarantees that he would be registered this season. The homework has not been done. We had to work better to reach a market situation in which all outstanding accounts would have been settled.”
Díaz maintains a high value on the market, being now the most expensive player in the Liverpool squad, with an estimated value of 75 million euros, according to the Transfermarkt portal.
Since his arrival from Porto, Luis Díaz has managed to adapt quickly to the demanding Premier League. His signing had an initial cost of 45 million euros, plus 20 million in variables, an investment made by the English club at the request of German coach Jürgen Klopp.
