Ayah Luis Diaz tells of his experience of being kidnapped before finally being released. He emphasized that he would not move from Barrancas after this kidnapping tragedy.

Player’s father Liverpool, Luis Diaz, namely Luis Manuel Diaz, was finally released after two weeks of being kidnapped. Diaz and his wife Cilenis Marulanda were kidnapped on October 28 at a gas station in the Colombian city of Barrancas.

Both were kidnapped by the Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) or Colombian National Liberation Army. They are a separatist movement in Colombia

Diaz senior’s wife had already been released. Meanwhile, Luis Manuel Diaz was held hostage for a long time before the ELN finally handed him over to UN officers and local church representatives. He was then taken by helicopter to Valledupar.

Luis Manuel Diaz was released in fairly good condition. There were no significant injuries on his body.

Even though he was in good condition, Luis Manuel Diaz revealed that the situation during the kidnapping made him completely uncomfortable. He admitted that he could not sleep during the kidnapping.

However, he always believed the government would save him. This is also what made Luis Manuel Diaz emphasize that he would remain in Barrancas even though the incident after the kidnapping occurred. he believes the Colombian government will always protect him.

“Even though I was treated well, I felt uncomfortable. I rode a lot of horses in quite difficult conditions, many mountains were passed, it was raining. Almost 12 days without sleep,” said Luis Manuel Diaz, quoted by the Standard.

“My hope is to continue living in my city because my whole family is in my city. The government has given me very strong and great support. I believe and believe that the government will give me security to be in Barrancas,” he explained.
