Who is Brugnaro
Father of five children, sixty, was born in Mirano (Venice) and graduated in architecture. Since 15 June 2015 he has been the first citizen of the lagoon capital (the second term was won in the first round in 2020 with 54% of the votes), mayor of the Metropolitan City, vice president of the Civic Museums Foundation of Venice, president of the La Fenice Theater Foundation and vice president of the Biennale. He is the founder of Umana, a holding that brings together 23 companies active in the field of services. The same name of the employment agency founded in 1997 and in just a few years became a leader in the sector with 130 branches in Italy, 5 offices in Brazil, over 1,000 professionals and 23,000 people employed in Italian companies. On 18 December 2017, Brugnaro, the first case in Italy, to avoid the accusation of conflict of interest, signed a “blind trust” by bringing together all the shares of the companies he owned. The illness deeply affected the staff, who have been following him for years.
