Luhut said every day, visitors to the Borobudur Temple area are limited to 1,200 people.

“We agree and plan to limit the quota of tourists who want to go up to the Borobudur temple as many as 1,200 people per day, with a fee of 100 dollars for foreign tourists and 750 thousand rupiah for domestic tourists,” he said.
In addition to tariffs for local and foreign tourists, there are also special rates for students.
Especially for students, said Luhut, they will be charged a very cheap rate, which is only Rp. 5,000.
Luhut said later all tourists must also use a tour guide (tour guide) from local residents around the Borobudur area.

“We are doing this in order to absorb new jobs as well as to foster a sense of belonging to this area so that a sense of responsibility to care for and preserve one of the historical sites of this archipelago can continue to grow in the hearts of the younger generation in the future,” said Luhut.
