JAKARTA – Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that in the next 10 days the number of confirmed cases and deaths from Covid-19 would increase.
“Well, I’m just reminding that in the next few days there will be an increase in the trend of confirmed cases and also death cases due to savings for confirmation and death cases that will be issued by several districts and cities. There may be several hundred or maybe thousands of data that will gradually be released in the next 10 days,” Luhut said in a virtual press conference, Monday (23/8/2021).
Luhut explained that the increase in the figure was from saving regional data that had not been reported. “This is due to the improvement in mortality data in several areas, which have been better and previously unreported cases of death have been reported,” he explained.
Luhut explained that currently the government has included the mortality indicator as an assessment level set by WHO. “In the level 4 evaluation above, the government re-enters mortality indicator data as a level assessment assessment according to the reference set by WHO.”
“So, two weeks ago, we took it because we were trying to clear up the data. And I think now the hard work of the Ministry of Health should be appreciated, the data is getting better. Although there are still some areas whose data still need maybe the next 1-2 weeks to be better, “said Luhut.
“That’s how I describe how difficult it is for us to manage this. And what about my friends in the regional government,” he explained.
