Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan claim the presidential and vice presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming as a symbol of hope for a developed Indonesia.
Luhut said Prabowo-Gibran was a symbiosis between wisdom and new energy that was perfectly integrated. According to him, Prabowo-Gibran has a sincere intention to realize the vision of Advanced Indonesia.
“This is also what I see from the Prabowo-Gibran pair: a symbol of hope for an advanced Indonesia. A synergy between unity and acceleration to continue the sustainable development that we are currently preparing for,” said Luhut in a post on his Instagram account @luhut.pandjaitan, Wednesday (25/10).
Luhut said the Prabowo-Gibran duet caught his attention the most. He realized that many people welcomed this duet with optimism, but there were also those who had doubts.
He also offended people who underestimated Jokowi when he first entered the presidential election. According to him, currently Jokowi has become a very important and calculated figure.
“So I see that the doubts that currently arise in many people’s minds regarding Pak Prabowo’s decision to choose Mas Gibran are understandable,” he said.
On that occasion, Luhut also congratulated the other candidate pairs, namely Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD and Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin.
Luhut admitted that he would always stand upright in supporting the vision brought by Jokowi. He said Jokowi had taught many valuable lessons about how a leader should act and make choices.
“My loyalty to him has never faded, not only because of his position as president, but because of the integrity, dedication and example he has shown in every aspect of his life,” said Luhut.
Prabowo and the political party the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) have chosen Gibran Rakabuming as their vice presidential candidate. They have also registered with the General Election Commission (KPU) today.
Gibran is the eldest son of President Jokowi who currently still serves as Mayor of Solo. His step could be to become vice presidential candidate because there was a decision by the Constitutional Court (MK) which granted the lawsuit regarding the requirements for presidential and vice presidential candidates.
Chief Constitutional Justice Anwar Usman, who is also Gibran’s uncle, changed the requirements for presidential and vice presidential candidates to be at least 40 years old or have previously served as regional head.
