Jakarta –
The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves) started using electric vehicle for official cars.
The use of electric vehicles will be carried out in stages and will be used by ministers, secretaries of coordinating ministries, deputies, and as operational vehicles in each work unit of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. The use of this electric vehicle is the implementation of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 7 of 2022.
“This is a concrete step that the government is serious about encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles in Indonesia,” Luhut said as quoted by Antara, Friday (3/3/2023).
Luhut said, in the last two years there has been a significant increase in investment and production of vehicles, both two-wheeled, four-wheeled or more, along with other supporting industries. According to him, this needs to be accompanied by increased use so that the ecosystem can continue to grow.
“This investment and production must be accompanied by aspects of increasing the use of KBLBB itself, which will encourage the growth and development of a strong KBLBB ecosystem and industry in the country,” he said.
In total, there are seven KBLBB units that will be used as official vehicles at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, namely the Toyota bZ4X from PT Toyota Astra Motors and six Wuling Air EV units from PT SGMW Motor Indonesia (Wuling).
