Ozoliņš worked as a coach at the Muraman Sports Gymnasium Kamaniņi Sports Department.

“Jānis Ozoliņš was a great coach, he cared for everyone from his heart. He loved his job and did it with the greatest joy and dedication,” the LKSF said in a statement.

Among the students of Ozoliņš are also several medalists of the Olympic Games and world championships, for example, Mārtiņš Rubenis, Elīza Tīruma, Juris and Andris Šici. Most of the athletes of the current Latvian national team have also forged their skills in luge sports at Ozoliņš.
