München – Lufthansa is once again using the world’s largest passenger aircraft at Munich Airport.
The first of a total of four A380s that are to be stationed in Munich by the end of the year landed on Wednesday. The aircraft type is to be used again in regular flight operations from June 1st. First to Boston, then from July 4th to New York. Before that, however, training flights should already be completed.
509 seats in the giant jet
Lufthansa had already removed the A380 from its own fleet before the Corona lull. Because demand for long-haul routes has risen sharply and the delivery of new aircraft has been delayed, some of the decommissioned giant jets, each with 509 seats, have now been reactivated.
However, Lufthansa is not the only airline that flies from Munich with the A380. Emirates also regularly uses the aircraft there.
