Lufthansa is now also flying between Munich and New York JFK with its Airbus A380, which has been put back into service. Previously, the A380s were already on the Munich – Boston route.

Lufthansa needs four machines for this. Two more are to be added as reserves in the course of the year.

Lufthansa had already taken the four-engine A380 jets out of the fleet before the Corona lull for reasons of efficiency and parked them in Spain.

But due to the sharp increase in demand for airline tickets and the delayed delivery of ordered aircraft, the group decided to reactivate the A380, which is popular with passengers and crews.

With the change to the winter timetable in October, the aircraft will then fly from Munich to Los Angeles and to Bangkok.
