Lufthansa closes the lounge at Nuremberg Airport – Nuremberg

– For Lufthansa frequent flyers, traveling will be less comfortable in the future. The Lufthansa lounges in Bremen, Dresden, Cologne / Bonn, Leipzig and Nuremberg as well as Delhi will remain permanently closed, as the company announced on request. No further decisions have been made so far.

“However, we always look at our lounge portfolio continuously in order to be able to respond to changing market conditions if necessary,” it said. The news magazine “Spiegel” had previously reported on it.

According to Lufthansa, the market conditions at the individual locations play a major role, for example changes in passenger flows or the availability of lounge areas and rental agreements. Wherever possible, Lufthansa wants to offer passengers alternatives, for example at locations where partners from the Star Alliance have their own lounges, such as in Delhi (Air India). Aviation is one of the industries hit particularly hard by the consequences of the corona pandemic.

Lufthansa plans to reopen its large lounge “First Class Terminal” at Frankfurt Airport on September 1st. A First Class Lounge in Terminal 1 is to be temporarily closed for this purpose. In view of the current number of authorized guests, parallel operation is not economically feasible. As soon as the number increases again, the First Class Lounge will also reopen.
