Lufthansa cancels Frankfurt flights from Leipzig

Lufthansa is reducing its offer at Leipzig / Halle Airport. As a group spokeswoman told the MDR, Lufthansa will no longer fly to Frankfurt Airport from Leipzig / Halle for the time being. Instead, passengers could take the ICE from Leipzig to Frankfurt Airport in specially reserved areas. There should be flight connections to Munich again.

Munich line remains

Lufthansa expands cooperation with Deutsche Bahn

In cooperation with Deutsche Bahn, Lufthansa connects Frankfurt Airport with 17 cities by rail and has significantly expanded the service. Up until the beginning of the 1990s, Lufthansa had its own trains on the Stuttgart – Frankfurt and Düsseldorf – Frankfrurt routes, which were reserved for its guests only. This service was abandoned for cost reasons. The airline is now using reserved compartments or wagons for its guests on regular trains. Travelers book the seats like a plane ticket with Lufthansa.

Regardless of this, Deutsche Bahn offers its own Rail & Fly tickets for air travelers from all train stations and cooperates with many airlines that operate routes from Germany.

Eurowings again more frequently in Leipzig / Halle and Dresden

The Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings is flying to the central German airports again more frequently. The first flight from Leipzig / Halle to Düsseldorf after the five-month Corona break starts on Sunday. According to the airport holding company, the route is operated daily except on Saturdays. Eurowings already connects Leipzig / Halle with Palma de Mallorca and Varna.

From Monday, Eurowings will take off again from Dresden to Stuttgart. The flights take place daily from Monday to Friday. From Dresden the airline is already on its way to Düsseldorf and Palma de Mallorca. Cologne / Bonn is announced for September.
