The Lueg Group is reorganizing its business in Witten. After months of renovation and modernization work, the Lueg Volvo Centrum Rhein Ruhr (Lueg VCRR) will move into the Mercedes dealership at Stockumer Strasse 80, which will be closed in 2020, at the end of February of the three largest Volvo dealerships in Germany. The time to expand geographically was more than ripe, “explained Managing Director Frank Uwe Werner on Friday.
VCRR has been part of Lueg for almost 17 years. The new operation is designed according to the “Volvo Retail Experience” concept and is to offer twice the total area compared to the previous location on Hofsteder Straße in Bochum. Werner: “Generous showroom and service areas will bring together the best of the digital and analog world on two floors.” For a Scandinavian feel-good atmosphere, there are bright, open sales areas with a large reception counter, natural materials and warm lighting concepts.
Investments “well into the seven-digit range”
According to Werner, investments “well into the seven-figure range” were made for the new Volvo adventure world in Witten. The growth targets sound correspondingly ambitious: “We want to become the most successful and customer-oriented Volvo dealership in Germany by 2025,” emphasized the 57-year-old. He referred to the positive development of the Lueg subsidiary so far. VCRR’s car sales have doubled in the past five years and the number of workshop services has tripled in the past ten years.
“Volvo is one of the most attractive premium brands in the industry and fits perfectly with our corporate strategy of focusing on brands with the highest priority in sales and service,” said Lueg CEO Martijn Storm. With the operation from February 26th, the subsidiary will set “new standards in terms of customer focus and customer experience”.
Lueg is one of the largest car dealers in Germany. The traditional company, founded in 1868, is active with twelve companies and a total of around 1,700 employees in the Ruhr area, Saxony and Central Switzerland. In addition to the classic car dealership division with currently eight brands, including Mercedes, Volvo and Ferrari, the mobility business is also an important pillar, above all in the areas of fleet and claims management, parking space rental and e-mobility.
