Ludvig Åberg, 24, is a smash hit at Pebble Beach.
He finished Friday’s round at seven under par – and is now in a shared lead ahead of this weekend’s decider.
– He is sensational, says expert Jay Townsend.
Birdie, eagle, par, birdie.
That’s how Ludvig Åberg started Friday’s round at Pebble Beach.
The putter was red-hot and the Swedish sensation sank putts for a total of 32.5 meters on the first four holes, causing the American television commentators to almost drop their jaws.
– It is difficult to take in, considering that Pebble Beach has among the most difficult greens on the entire tour. He is sensational, said pundit Jay Townsend.

Åberg then made three more birdies and the rest pars.
– It was a good round. I got off to a good start when a few long putts fell in, it’s always a bonus when the day starts that way. Overall, it felt good, he says afterwards.
Åberg is a total of eleven under par and in a shared lead (with Thomas Detry and Scottie Scheffler) ahead of this weekend’s decider.
– I don’t intend to change anything in the game. It’s just to continue like this and then we’ll see what happens, he says.
