The designer, who left the creative direction of Ann Demeulemeester last May and can now devote more time to the brand that bears his name, has always been strongly attached to New York, the metropolis in which he was celebrated last June during a great celebration given in his honor. The opportunity to make contacts and work on his future New York show.

New York constitutes not only a reference and an important source of inspiration, but also a strategic platform for Ludovic de Saint Sernin. “During these six years of activity, the North American market has established itself as the most important for the brand in terms of turnover – not to mention one of the most loyal,” indicates the latter in a press release, noting that the United States represents 32% of its total turnover. The collection and the February show will therefore be an opportunity “to deepen the brand’s relationship with the American market and to pay homage to a city which has played a determining role in the current identity of the house”.

“I have no words to express how excited I am to bring LdSS to New York. It’s a place that has always held a special place in my heart. It has always been a source inspiring, because of its legacy as a key location in the history of contemporary queer culture and some of today’s defining art movements, but also because of the incredible community that has been built around the label in the city”, comments the designer.

Born in Brussels, Ludovic de Saint Sernin (32 years old) grew up in France. Finalist for the 2018 LVMH Prize and winner of the creative label prize awarded by Andam the same year, he graduated in fashion design from the Ecole Duperré. He moved to Saint Laurent, before joining Balmain and launching his own men’s line in 2017, which then expanded to women’s.
