Ludogorets experienced difficulties in the rematch with Dinamo Minsk in Hungary and lost it 0:1, but continues to the third qualifying round of the Champions League with a total score of 2:1 from the two matches, gol.bg reported.
Ivan Bahar scored the only goal of the game in the 37th minute, taking advantage of a precise pass from Trofim Melnichenko. Bahar’s finish from close range gave Dynamo the lead after a period of relatively unsettled play.
Ludogorets had previously had a chance to score in the fourth minute when Brazilian winger Rick Jonathan’s shot was saved by Dynamo goalkeeper Fyodor Lapukhov. Shortly after, Ruan Seko also missed a clear opportunity for the Bulgarian team.
Dynamo Minsk had their closest chance in the 11th minute when Pavel Sedko’s shot was deflected off the crossbar by German Ludogorets goalkeeper Hendrik Bonmann.
In the second half, Ludogorets came close to equalizing, especially when a botched save by Lapukhov almost resulted in an own goal, the ball hitting the post.
Bonman, who made his official debut for Ludogorets, was called into action again in the 70th minute, saving a crucial Pedro Igor volley.
Despite continued pressure and chances created by the likes of Bernard Tekpetei and Jakub Piotrovski, Ludogorets failed to find the back of the net and the score remained 1-0 in favor of Dynamo Minsk.
Thus, in the next round, Ludogorets plays against the leader of Azerbaijan – Karabakh.
