The upcoming movie is a sequel to the movie Shazam! from 2019. Shazam! Fury of the Gods tells the story of teenage Billy Batson, who transforms into superhero Shazam after casting a special spell. Billy, who is still in school, gets super powers and goes on all kinds of adventures.
Not only Liu has been added to the cast of the new film, which will be directed by David Sandberg. It was also announced that nineteen-year-old Rachel Zegler will get a role. The names of Zachary Levi, Helen Mirren and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson have already been announced.
Shazam! was the most successful film worldwide on its opening weekend. In total, the film raised more than 300 million euros.
