In an interview conducted at the Metropolitano, Enrique Cerezo confesses in the program ‘Plano general’, directed and presented by Jenaro Castro, that he has been “lucky” to have worked and work on the two things that he has liked most in life : “cinema and football”. The president of Atlético de Madrid and film producer defines himself “as a normal and simple person”, a lover of work and whose motto in life has been and is “never stop believing”.
He affirms that “we live in a very free country with a democratic monarchy in which Felipe VI has improved the emeritus king and for whose reign he will be remembered.” Cerezo also hopes that “Juan Carlos I will return to Spain as soon as he can” and states that he believes “in the cinema, Atlético de Madrid and in Spain”.
Enrique Cerezo remembers that he started as a camera assistant on TVE, and talks about his experiences in the cinema with George Cukor, Richard Lester, Sean Connery and the current Spanish celluloid stars. He says he doesn’t feel like a “propagandist” and stresses that what he values most is friendship.
