Lucky Customer Gets 2021 iPad Pro Early, Posts Videos of Mini LED Display

A few Apple customers may receive their M1-equipped iPad Pro order earlier than expected, as one lucky customer has already received the 12.9-inch, 5th-gen model a week ahead of the expected release date.

Reddit user “PeterDragon50” says he placed his order when pre-orders began in late April and the Nebraska Furniture Mart chain of stores informed him that his iPad was ready for pickup last weekend.

Last month, Apple lifted the veil on its new 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED display. While it should have been delivered from May 21 to the first customers, some lucky ones have already had the privilege of receive the high-end device before everyone else.

As a reminder, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is available at a price of 1219 euros, while the cheapest 11-inch version sold for 899 euros, and is not equipped with the beautiful mini-LED Liquid Retina XDR display. It will cost an additional 170 euros to make them 5G compatible.

He posts videos of the iPad Pro 2021 to show his screen

The Reddit user posted numerous videos to his YouTube channel. In these, it attempts to show the mini-LED screen in action and the peak brightness of 1600 nits when watching HDR content. Unlike that of the iPad Pro 2020, the new iPad Pro panel uses 10,000 mini LEDs, which provides much greater control of the localized backlight, allowing for higher brightness and deeper blacks.

Asked about the screen, PeterDragon50 replied: “ Blacks are really deep. The colors definitely live up to the Apple quality. I watch some OLED HDR videos on YouTube. “. He added that “ The screen quality is on par with the OLED, but brighter in hdr content for sure. The speakers sound similar to the iPad Pro 2020, robust and loud.

Along with the images and videos of the new iPad Pro, Antutu benchmarking scores have also been released, showing that the new iPad Pro is significantly faster than last year’s model. Geekbench scores released early last week also showed that the new iPad is 50% faster than the previous generation.
