Lucid Motors’ International EV Factory in Saudi Arabia: AMO-2 Begins Operations with Plans for Full Capacity by 2028

Jeddah: Lucid Motors’ first international factory, AMO-2, has started operations in Saudi Arabia. Four types of EV electric vehicles will be manufactured here this year. The investment ministry said the factory will reach full capacity by 2028. Lucid Motors’ first international manufacturing factory, AMO-2, is part-owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund.

The factory is set up in King Abdullah Economic City, Jeddah. It has the capacity to produce 1,55,000 vehicles. Four models of EV electric vehicles will be manufactured here this year. The Ministry of Investment has stated that the factory will reach full capacity by 2028.

Lucid will exclusively manufacture EV vehicles in two models. It is decided to export 95% of it. The factory will be spread over 1.35 million square meters. Lucid Motors has 31 percent of the area earmarked for vehicle manufacturing in King Abdullah Economic City. The ministry expects the factory to employ many Saudi nationals and create thousands of direct jobs.
