The US company currently only has one product with different drive and equipment variants, the electric sedan Air. The first examples in Germany were delivered in December 2022 – this was the Lucid Air in the limited Dream Edition. Additional variants are now available; prices in Germany start at 109,000 euros for the Air Pure AWD.
Shortly before deliveries began last December, Lucid Motors opened its third European retail location and its first service, delivery and distribution center near Amsterdam. As is well known, the first showroom on European soil was opened in Munich, and another is now in Geneva.
“We are excited to open our second studio in Germany, a country passionate about cars and the environment,” said Zak Edson, vice president of sales and service at Lucid Group. “The reception we received after opening our first store in Munich confirmed that German customers are ready for Lucid. The highway-tuned Lucid Air features exceptional range, a unique design, incredible performance and superior charge times.”
Because the Air has a 900-volt architecture, it can charge faster than other production vehicles currently available. The top models with a 113 kWh battery can charge with up to 300 kW thanks to the 900 volt system voltage, while the models with the smaller 92 kWh battery can achieve a peak of 250 kW.
The Lucid Air is currently built in the company’s only factory in Casa Grande, Arizona. Production of the E-SUV Gravity is also scheduled to start there in 2024. Last week the company opened its second factory, an assembly plant in Saudi Arabia.
