The Lucid Air that was presented a few days ago, continues to demonstrate its great potential, beating time and not a little made to mark from the Tesla Model S Plaid on the American circuit of Laguna Seca. Last year, Elon Musk’s company’s three-engine prototype had achieved a time of 1’36 “55 that Lucid Motors’ new electric car shattered. According to YouTube channel” The KilloWatts “, the sedan achieved a time of about 1’33 “. Although not an official result, the difference with the time of the Model S is notable.
Lucid just beat Tesla!
Looks like they are testing their mysterious Tri-Motor powertrain and will announce official times after @Tesla Unveils Model S Plaid
Nothing official yet but we just saw a 1:33 that looked like a walk in the park.#LucidAir #Teslahttps://t.co/55elVX7iiO pic.twitter.com/pECxtrXY1Z

It is worth noting, however, that the car that shot in Laguna Seca has some aerodynamic differences respect to the “classic version” of the Lucid Air. This is probably the Performance variant equipped with a powertrain consisting of 3 electric motors. This does not mean, however, that the electric sedan has great potential in terms of performance. After all, the Dream Edition version had already managed to beat the Tesla Model S in the classic quarter-mile acceleration test, falling below 10 seconds.
Americans really like these challenges on the track. In particular, Tesla has initiated several remote comparisons with various other models of high-performance electric cars. One way to also demonstrate that battery-powered vehicles can give great satisfaction from a performance point of view. Speaking of Tesla, on the Model S Plaid there may soon be some news.
It is speculated, in fact, that during Battery Day on September 22nd the American manufacturer can finally give more information on this high-performance model with which he will perhaps try, then, to “regain his records” on the track he has momentarily lost.
