For the thirty-four-year-old defender Shattenkirk, it will be the seventh engagement in the most famous hockey league in the world. Van Riemsdyk, an equally old forward, has spent two stints in Philadelphia and one in Toronto. He played 940 games in the NHL and scored 591 points (300+291). While Lucic will make a million dollars next season, the details of Shattenkirk’s contract have not been released.
Boston set several records in the past regular season, including the most points (135) and wins (65) in the competition’s more than 100-year history. In the opening round of the playoffs, however, it was not enough for the later finalist Florida, despite leading 3:1 in the matches.
